The French newspaper “Le Figaro” said that opponents of the fifth generation of the Internet burned a relay tower in Limoges and deprived 1.5 million citizens of television, radio and mobile phone communications.
“There is no coverage … an anti-5G group deprived 1.5 million people of television and radio for several days after a fire on Monday 11 January targeted a TDF transmitter located in Cars near Limoges in western France,” the newspaper reported.
Two nearby sites were also affected in the fire, one of them was the “Orange” mobile phone antenna, which affected telecommunications services in several departments.
On Friday evening, thousands of viewers remained deprived of the digital terrestrial “TNT” television, according to “France 3” channel.
Le Figaro, citing the local newspaper, Le Populaire du Center, reported that the fire destroyed a 230-meter-tall vertical tower and required the intervention of 20 firefighters and emergency workers.
The local newspaper also indicated that, a few hours after the fire, it received a message from the so-called “5G Abolition Committee”, in which it said: “The danger is on our doors. We are not strong but we will prevail despite our weakness … The iPhone will never make humanity happy.”
