Tripoli protests, northern Lebanon
A number of Lebanese demonstrators organized protest vigils in the capital Beirut and the southern city of Sidon, in solidarity with the protesters in the northern city of Tripoli.
The “National News Agency” reported that groups of the “civil movement” carried out a stand in solidarity with Tripoli, on Saturday afternoon in Martyrs Square in Beirut, during which the participants raised Lebanese flags and chanted slogans in solidarity with Tripoli, and “against the policy of starvation and suppression of demonstrators and the use of force in Face their move. “
The agency indicated that a group of young men carried out a solidarity stand on Saturday evening at the Elia Roundabout in Sidon, during which the participants criticized the “campaign of arrests that took place in the city of Tripoli,” stressing “their continuing moves until all right and legitimate demands were met.” Then they set out on a march that roamed the neighborhoods of Sidon.
