American basketball star LeBron James responded strongly to the statements of Swedish soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Friday, after the latter winked from his political affair channel.
Zlatan said that a “king” cannot be as influential outside basketball as he does inside.
“I’m the wrong person to mess with because I’m doing my duty,” James said after his team’s victory over Portland Trailblazers 102-93 on Friday.
James responded to the statements of the Italian Milan star “Ibra”, who considered that the athletes “should stay away from politics”, mentioning James by name and asking him to stop his political activities.
And from what the Swedish scorer said: “(LeBron) is apparent by what he is doing, but I do not like when people have an aura, so they engage in political affairs at the same time.”
Ibrahimovic’s comments came during an interview with UEFA on the Discovery Channel in Sweden, adding that it was a “mistake” to trample athletes outside their borders.

The Los Angeles Lakers star is considered an influential person in American society as he is one of the advocates of radical changes, focusing at the same time his efforts and concerns on the harshness of police treatment and racial injustice towards black people.
“Winning trophies is important,” James says, “but to influence, inspire people, and unite Americans is just a bonus.”
James says, “Ultimately, I don’t shut up about the wrong things. I preach about my people and preach about equality and social injustice, racism and voter oppression. Things that happen in our society.”
“I will never stick to sports. I know how strong my voice is,” he continues.
The “King” maintains that he would like to feel that he is the beginning of something much bigger in sports.
