LeBron James has drink spilled all over him and is offered a towel by courtside fan after exaggerating contact with Nikola Jokic in Lakers’ NBA playoff defeat to the Nuggets
LeBron James and the Lakers dropping Game 2 was hardly the most unusual part of Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.Â
During the hotly-contested 108-103 loss in Mile High, James collided with a fan courtside in the fourth quarter, sliding into the man whose drink – lime and all – spilled on the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. It shortly followed a tussle which James exaggerated in order to receive a foul call, and it worked.
For a moment, James sat with exasperation after finally coming to a halt before the fan offered him a towel. James obliged and said ‘Thank you’, in a moment caught by ESPN cameras.
Often used for swirling around one’s head as an ancillary means of heightening atmosphere, the towel received a more traditional usage as James wiped his face before resuming his on-court duties.Â
