LeBron James STARTS for the Lakers against the San Antonio Spurs as the NBA star makes his return to the court after missing five games sidelined with a groin injury
LeBron James will return to the Los Angeles Lakers’ lineup Friday night against the San Antonio Spurs after missing five games due to a strained left adductor.
The announcement came 20 minutes after Lakers coach Darvin Ham said the team was unsure of James’ availability.
The Lakers were 3-2 during James’ absence, including a three-game winning streak.
James left the court with five minutes remaining of the Lakers’ 114-101 loss to city rivals the Clippers November 9 with a suspected groin injury.

He gingerly limped off the court holding his groin area part way through the fourth quarter and did not return.
The 37-year-old suffered a tear in his left groin during his first season with LA in 2018-29, which caused him to miss 17 straight games from late December to late January
But fortunately for the Lakers the most recent injury has not been as disastrous.
‘I didn’t do anything extraneous on the play,’ James said via ESPN, after he appeared to tweak something while posting up the Clippers’ Paul George.
‘Just when I landed, I felt a little spasm or strain in my groin. So immediately I had to come out after that on the next play down when I went to the free throw line.’

Lakers center Anthony Davis averaged 31.8 points and 17.4 rebounds with James sidelined, including a season-high 38 points in a home victory over Detroit on Nov. 18.
In his 20th season, James is averaging 24.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 6.9 assists while playing 35.7 minutes per game.
James has missed six games this season for the Lakers, who have the league’s fifth worst record at 5-11.
Los Angeles is seeking its first road victory of the season.
