Fayez al-Sarraj, head of the Libyan Presidential Council for Business, called on his cabinet ministers and heads of public bodies and institutions not to communicate with the leaders of the National Dialogue before gaining the legitimacy of sovereign action.
In his decision, Al-Sarraj stressed that the heads of bodies and institutions should not hold meetings without permission, stressing “respect for the outcomes of the existing political process for the transfer of power and its unification.”
He pointed out that the decision was due to “the desire to distance public institutions and bodies from being affected by the existing political process before the due date,” noting that “the necessity to adhere to work controls within public institutions.”
This comes in response to public meetings held by members of the new executive authority in Libya with current officials in the Government of National Accord and military leaders affiliated to it, where the Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company and Wiam al-Abdali, to discuss the concerns of the Libyans and the problem of interruptions. Dabaiba also met with Minister of Finance Faraj Boumtari on the unification of the budget, while the new President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, met with the commanders of the military regions and members of the 5 + 5 military committee of the Government of National Accord.
