The Security Directorate of Kufra, in the southeast of Libya, announced the liberation of 47 illegal immigrants who were detained by human traffickers in a secret prison on the outskirts of the city, while security agents raided a farm in the area.
The directorate said in a statement today, Sunday, that the release of the hostages was carried out through joint security work by the Criminal Investigation Department in the Directorate, the Center for Shelter and Deportation of the infidels and the Paths of Peace Brigade, as 46 people with Sudanese nationality, in addition to an Ethiopian prisoner, were freed.
According to the statement, the operation to free the hostages took place after one of the prisoners managed to escape and reached the northern gate of the city, where he informed the Subways of Peace Brigade, which in turn circulated the report to the competent authorities.
