Today, Wednesday, a meeting will be held between the road map committee formed by the Libyan House of Representatives and a parallel committee from the Supreme Council of State, to complete consensus on the road map to determine the date for holding elections, the constitutional and security track, and national reconciliation, with the aim of ending the current transitional phase.
The escalating dispute between the House of Representatives and its political partner, the Supreme Council of State, regarding the constitutional basis for the elections, erupted in the last hours by excluding the second primary council from consultations to form an alternative government to the current one.
The decision was not approved by the parliament during the voting process, and it was rejected by the President of the Supreme Council of State, Khaled Al-Mashri, who confirmed his support for the current government, rejecting any amendment of the executive authority that is not in line with the constitutional declaration.
Military formations
In the meantime, the UN Special Adviser to Libya, Stephanie Williams, discussed ways to reintegrate those affiliated with armed formations into state institutions.
This came during her meeting with the Chairman of the 410th Military Committee, Mahmoud Bin Yaza, at the Abu Sitta Naval Base in Tripoli.
Williams said – in a tweet to her on Twitter – that she had listened to the work of the committee and its plans to reintegrate armed formations with state institutions and the private sector.
In turn, the committee stressed that Libya is able to absorb all individuals within the framework of the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration program, but this requires stability and a reduction in foreign interference.
The two sides also discussed ways in which the United Nations can support the work of the Disarmament Committee, including the exchange of experiences with other countries.

Last October, the government launched a national project to rehabilitate and reintegrate young people affiliated with armed formations and wishing to join state institutions.
