According to information from traffic monitoring footage, the accident occurred at 9:55 am Saturday on Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway in Nanjing.
After the accident, the truck was left deviating across the road, blocking traffic almost entirely, and pushing social media users to comparisons with the container ship Evergreen, which is currently closing the Suez Canal.
Pictures of the accident quickly spread on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, and via other media.
