Lisa Marie Presley’s mother gives update on her daughter’s status
Priscilla Presley, mother of Lisa Marie Presley, shared a brief update on her daughter’s health on Thursday afternoon.
“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel everyone’s prayers and ask for privacy during this time,” she wrote in an Instagram post, shared with a photo of the two women.
Presley was seen Tuesday night during the Golden Globe Awards, which she attended with her mother Priscilla to support the Baz Luhrmann film “Elvis” about her late father.
In fact, actor Austin Butler won the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama film for his powerful portrayal of Elvis Presley in that film. When Butler accepted the award, he spoke in a deep tone and, apparently, with the same southern accent that he adopted to embody the “King of Rock and Roll.” The images showed an emotional Lisa Marie Presley at the time.
In 2020, Lisa Marie Presley’s son Benjamin Keough committed suicide at the age of 27. Last July, Presley marked the two-year anniversary of Keough’s death on Instagram by sharing a photo of the matching tattoos on his feet.
Presley, who was previously married to Michael Lockwood, Nicolas Cage, Michael Jackson, and Danny Keough, has three other children: actress Riley Keough, Finley Aaron Love Lockwood, and Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood.
Last September, Presley shared in an essay how he has lived through mourning for his son. “My life and that of my three daughters as we knew them was completely destroyed by his death. We live in this every day,” he wrote. “Grief is something that you will have to carry with you for the rest of your life, despite what certain people or our culture would have us believe. You don’t ‘get over it’, you don’t ‘move on’, period”.
Presley described grief as “incredibly lonely” at the time, noting that only “a handful” of people typically keep in touch to offer ongoing support to a friend or family member who has experienced a difficult loss.
Lisa Marie Presley, only daughter of the king of rock n’roll Elvis Presley was born on February 1, 1968.
