Victims killed in the New Orleans attack include a student, a former college football player, and parents of young children.
Authorities have yet to release their names, but some have been identified by their loved ones.
Here’s what we know about them:
Tiger Bech: The native of Lafayette, Louisiana, was a former Princeton football player and had been working as a junior trader in New York City.
The 27-year-old was caught up in the attack while on his way back to a hotel with his best friend Ryan Quigley, his sister said. He died from internal injuries hours later. She said Quigley was in a stable condition as of Wednesday.
Matthew Tenedorio: The 25-year-old was from Slidell, Louisiana. He worked on the video production team for ASM, which manages two major venues in New Orleans, including the Caesars Superdome.
On New Year’s Eve, Tenedorio traveled to the city to celebrate. That night, he had dinner with his family, his cousin Christina Bounds said. “They begged Matthew not to go.”
Reggie Hunter: The Baton Rouge native leaves behind an 11-year-old child and a one-year-old.
The 37-year-old was on Bourbon Street with a cousin, Kevin Ball. After the attack, Hunter was taken to a hospital but later died from internal injuries. Ball, who was injured in the attack, was recovering in hospital as of Wednesday.
Kareem Badawi had studied at the University of Alabama and, before that, the Episcopal School of Baton Rouge. Badawi and Parker Vidrine, another former student who was injured in the attack, graduated from the high school in 2024.
Hubert Gauthreaux: The 21-year-old was an alumnus of Archbishop Shaw High School. New Orleans City Council member Helena N. Moreno told CNN she had spent time with Gauthreaux’s family as they were trying to find him after the attack. She learned about his death later that night.
Drew Dauphin: The recent Auburn University graduate was 26 years old. “Drew lit up every room he entered. His smile was infectious,” his family said.
Nicole Perez: The 27-year-old is the mother of a five-year-old son. Her sister, Jessica Carvajal, who is eight months pregnant, said she and her mother had to be hospitalized after they were shocked by Perez’s death.
Billy DiMaio: The 25-year-old was a New York-based account executive at Audacy who had graduated from Chestnut Hill College. “Beyond his professional achievements, Billy will be fondly remembered for his unwavering work ethic, positive attitude, and kindness,” an Audacy spokesperson said.
