London police raided a cafe housing about 50 people smoking hookah (shisha), watching football matches and playing loud music, in violation of strict general isolation rules that prohibit any kind of social rapprochement among the population in light of the spread of Covid-19 disease.
London police said in a statement on Friday that the cafe’s goers fled upon the arrival of the police, who searched the place in Wembley in the northwest of the capital and found 21 hookahs still burning.
The owner of the cafe faces a fine of up to ten thousand pounds.
London is witnessing an increase in the spread of the Corona virus, in light of the emergence of a new, faster-spreading strain of the virus.
And the pressure on intensive care units in hospitals is increasing. The authorities ordered the closure of schools in most parts of the British capital.
