Despite the refusal of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, yesterday the Warriors cut Avery Bradley to avoid paying his veteran minimum. This has been taken advantage of by the Lakers claiming their contract to close the 15 guaranteed contracts that every team must register. Rescue Doumbouya and Jay Haff round out the roster with dual contracts.
Bradley will earn the veteran minimum until his contract expires in June 2022, making him an unrestricted free agent. The guard already performed at a good level in the Lakers during the 19-20, despite absent from the playoffs that were held in the Orlando bubble and that crowned the Los Angeles team as champion. At the end of that season, Pelinka was unable to retain Bradley, who signed for a year and $ 5.63 million with the Miami Heat.
The 20-21 season was difficult for the exterior, who only played 27 games between their stay in Miami and Houston. Permanently plagued by physical problems, finishing the season in an anti-competitive environment has not helped him win offseason suitors. Bradley returns to the last team where he felt important, especially in the defensive section. Despite recent ups and downs, his almost 31 years should still ensure him seasons at a good level.
