The Utah Jazz have announced the termination of the contract de Jarrell Brantley. The forward had accepted the qualifying offer of $ 1.6 million for the 2021-22 season early last August. However, only $ 84,000 was fully guaranteed.
Brantley was selected in the 50th position of the 2019 draft by the Indiana Pacers, who they sent him immediately to Salt Lake City in exchange for a second round in 2021.
His first year would be completed almost exclusively with the Salt Lake City Stars of the Development League. In this competition he would average 18.8 points and 7.6 rebounds in 33 games. During the past course he would enjoy greater relevance in the rotation of Quin Snyder, although he would only participate in 28 games, as well as in four post-season. Their numbers would rise to 2.3 points in 4.9 minutes.
With this exit, the Jazz open a space in the roster, in addition to having another two-way contract available, the first being in the hands of Trent Forrest.
