A Lufthansa flight was forced to make an “unscheduled landing” at Chicago O’Hare Global Airport soon after a passenger’s laptop caught hearth on Monday night time, the airline verified to Insider.
The flight from Los Angeles to Frankfurt, Germany made an emergency landing at O’Hare Airport as a “precautionary measure,” owing to a modest hearth in the cabin. The fire was triggered by a passenger’s overheating laptop, Lufthansa explained.
The fireplace was set out in-flight prior to the aircraft landed. None of the passengers onboard were being hurt, but two flight attendants were being “addressed onsite” for smoke inhalation.
Staff members on floor are supporting passengers and they will be rebooked to their closing destinations, Lufthansa said.
“Safety on board was not compromised at any time,” it added.
“Lufthansa regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers. The basic safety of travellers and crews has top rated priority at all moments.”
