Eduardo Manzano, the celebrated comedian from the iconic duo ‘Los Polivoces’ and who later played Grandpa Arnoldo in ‘Una Familia de Diez,’ passed away on December 4.
“It is with deep sorrow that we say goodbye to our beautiful father, and we thank everyone who has respectfully shared their expressions of affection,” his family announced in a statement on the actor’s social media account.
The family shared a heartfelt tribute to the Mexican actor: “Today, life’s curtain has fallen. My father, a comedian beloved by thousands and a human being admired by all who knew him, has departed from this world. He was an extraordinary, kind, and intelligent man with a heart as big as his talent.”
“His legacy lives on not only on the stages he illuminated but in the people he transformed with a smile,” the statement continued. “Thank you, our beautiful father, for every lesson and for making our lives your masterpiece. Today, the world gives you one more standing ovation. Rest in peace.”
Born in Mexico City on July 18, 1938, Eduardo Manzano became an icon of comedy. He began his career in radio before forming the legendary duo ‘Los Polivoces’ with Enrique Cuenca. Throughout his career, he portrayed memorable characters such as Agallón Mafafas, Gordolfo Gelatino, and ‘El Wash and Wear.’
His most recent television roles were in the sitcom ‘Una Familia de Diez’ and the drama series ‘Médicos, línea de vida.’
