French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France cannot start using the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine against the Corona virus unless Russia submits an application to register it with European agencies.
Macron said in an interview with the French “TF1” channel: “Today we have seen reports about the high effectiveness of the” Sputnik V “vaccine. But we cannot distribute it in France if Russia does not direct an application to enter the market to our authorities.”

He added that European and national agencies will study the vaccine scientifically as soon as an order is received from the Russian product, and based on the results, it will be approved or rejected.
Markon stressed that “this decision is not political, but a purely scientific decision.”
This comes after the scientific journal Lancet published the results of the third phase of clinical trials of the Russian anti-corona virus vaccine, which showed high levels of effectiveness and efficacy, reaching 91.6%.
