Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced that 100,000 doses of the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine against the Coronavirus will arrive in Venezuela next week.
In a press conference held last Sunday, Maduro considered that the “Sputnik V” vaccine is “the safest among the vaccines in the world.”
He added, “Sputnik V is the most secure … It has demonstrated a high level of protection.”
And earlier this month, Maduro indicated that clinical trials of the Russian vaccine in Venezuela had shown it to be 100% effective.
The British “Lancet” magazine said that the results of the third phase of clinical trials of the Russian “Sputnik V” anti-corona virus vaccine showed that its effectiveness is more than 90%.
It should be noted that Russia called the vaccine produced by the “Gamalia” institute “Sputnik V”, due to its symbolism, because the first Soviet satellite called “Sputnik” was launched in 1957.
