Hoscord, a platform specialized in football statistics, published its ideal lineup for the best individual seasonal performances of players in the last 10 years in the English Premier League.

Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, the Saudi Al-Ahly player and captain of the “Desert Warriors” team, was the only representative of Arab and African football in the ideal squad that included 11 players, some of whom are still playing in the Premier League, and others have moved to other leagues.

It was noteworthy that Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s top scorer, was absent from the squad.

The platform was based on the criterion of the best individual evaluation of 11 players in all positions during any of the previous ten seasons.

Mahrez played 284 full matches in the Premier League with Leicester City and Manchester City, during which he scored 82 goals and provided 65 assists, in addition to winning the competition title 5 times.

As for the captain of the Egyptian national team, his goals tally is 149 goals and 68 assists, superior in numbers to Mahrez, but the selection is based on the best performance in one season and not cumulatively over the last ten years.

Mahrez received a seasonal rating of (7.84) out of 10 in the 2015-2016 season, when he won the league title with Leicester City. While the highest rating Salah received was (7.45) for his first season with Liverpool (2013-2014).

Mahrez’s star shone in the Premier League, when he led Leicester City to win their first and only title in the club’s history in the 2015-2016 season, before moving to Manchester City in the summer of 2018 and continuing his career with the Citizens, where he won 12 titles, including winning the historic treble last season.
