Steny Hoyer, Majority Leader in the Democratic-dominated US House of Representatives, has confirmed their intention to lift the terms of impeachment of the incumbent United States President, Donald Trump, to the Senate this week.

Hoyer, Democrat No. 2 in the House of Representatives, said in an interview with “MSNBC” channel, today, Wednesday, “There is no reason why we should not send it this week … We intend to do so.”
Hoyer pointed out that this decision was made during discussions with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, adding: “We are ready to move forward, and we want to send it to the Senate as soon as possible. We consider this issue to be urgent.”
On Wednesday, the House of Representatives, the lower house of the US Congress, began discussing legislation to hold Trump accountable for the second time during his term after the failure of the previous initiative in 2019.
The council is set to vote first on defining the rules for the debate, and if approved as expected, that will pave the way for a vote later in the day to pass an accountability clause accusing Trump of inciting the insurgency in his January 6 speech, which is widely considered to be Supporters of the President urged a storming of Congress in an event that killed 5 people.
