Manchester City won the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time in its history, after defeating Brazilian Fluminense 4-0 during the final match that brought them together today, Friday.
Manchester City took the lead with a goal scored by Julian Alvarez just 40 seconds into the match, making this goal the fastest in the history of the Club World Cup.

Manchester City added the second goal in the 27th minute when Phil Foden passed a cross from the left side from inside the penalty area, hitting the foot of Fluminense defender Nino before hitting the net, ending the first half with Manchester City leading by two clean goals.
In the second half, Manchester City scored the third goal in the 72nd minute through Phil Foden, before Julian Alvarez scored his second goal and the fourth for Manchester City in the 88th minute.

Spaniard Rodri, the “Citizens” player, was crowned with the Golden Ball for the best player in the tournament, while his English teammate Kyle Walker came second, and Colombian Arias came in third.
Manchester City is participating in the tournament after winning the Champions League title for the first time in its history last season.
While Fluminense participates after also winning the Copa Libertadores title for the first time in its history.
Manchester City became the first English team to win the title in its first participation, after Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea failed to do so. Manchester United failed to win the 2000 title, Liverpool failed in 2005 and Chelsea failed in 2012.

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola became the first coach to win four Club World Cup titles, breaking the partnership with Italian Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach, who won the title three times.
Guardiola won the title twice with Barcelona, in 2009 and 2011, and won it with Bayern Munich in 2013.

The teams of the Old Continent continued their dominance in the international club competition, as they did not lose in the last 22 matches, specifically since 2012.
Real Madrid is the team that has won the title the most, having won it five times (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022), followed by Barcelona three times, the Brazilian Corinthians and Bayern Munich twice for each team.
