A late brace from substitute Jess Park sealed a dramatic 4-1 comeback victory for Manchester United against Everton, extending their unbeaten streak in the Women’s Super League to six matches.
Manchester United controlled the opening exchanges at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Lisa Naalsund shooting wide before Melvine Malard’s acrobatic overhead kick drew a sharp point-blank save from Everton goalkeeper Emily Ramsey.
Despite the constant pressure, the hosts took a surprise lead against the run of play in the 16th minute. After United keeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce parried Yuka Momiki’s free-kick, the ball fell to Honoka Hayashi, who promptly fired it into the net. United continued to press, with an Ella Toone effort saved by Ramsey, but Everton maintained their narrow advantage into halftime.
The visitors’ persistence paid off in the 62nd minute when Malard slotted home a rebound after her initial shot was saved. The turnaround was complete just eight minutes later when Everton defender Hikaru Kitagawa unfortunately diverted the ball into her own net.
Park, who was on loan at Everton during the 2022-23 season, then put the game beyond doubt. In the 84th minute, her shot took a deflection off Elise Stenevik to make it 3-1, and she capped her impactful performance shortly after by drilling a precise strike from the edge of the area to complete the scoring.
