A US appeals court on Tuesday upheld the conviction of Mexican drug trafficker Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
The United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in Manhattan rejected several arguments that “El Chapo” raised to seek a reversal, including jury misconduct and the conditions he experienced in jail.
Guzmán Loera was convicted in February 2019 of trafficking billions of dollars in drugs and conspiring to assassinate enemies, as the leader of the Sinaloa cartel.
