Mara Lezama receives the 30 millionth passenger at the Cancun International Airport

Cancun.- The great tourist success that Quintana Roo maintains is thanks to the treatment of its people and the trust of tourists, investors and natural beauties that it has, so that this activity is a growth engine, assured the governor Mara Lezama Espinosa when receiving 30 million passengers at the Cancun International Airport, breaking a historical record.

He said that his government is promoting the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo so that the tourism sector is a social welfare tool for all Quintana Roo residents and that the income can generate shared prosperity.

Upon arrival at Terminal 3 of the Cancun International Airport, the 30 millionth passenger Lisa Marie Stickley from Indianapolis, United States, was received amid mariachis by the governor, Mara Lezama Espinosa, who delivered an award.

The Governor recalled that this year the record for the arrival of visitors to Quintana Roo has been broken by receiving 30 million passengers at the Cancun International Airport, where the arrival of 185 thousand flights was registered, an average of 500 daily operations in 2022, from who visit the 11 municipalities of the state.

Mara Lezama pointed out that for tourism to be a tool for social welfare, shared prosperity, various tourism segments will be promoted in rural communities of Quintana Roo.

He stressed that the tourist destinations of Quintana Roo are positioned as the most important in Latin America and the world that, by the end of 2022, expect to exceed 19 million tourists in state territory, with a difference of more than 13% compared to the year 2019 record.
