Married At First Sight star Natasha Spencer reveals she attempted suicide 12 months ago as she urges fans to get help for mental health issues
Natasha Spencer has revealed that she made an attempt on her own life one year ago.
The former Married At First Sight star, who appeared on season seven of the show last year, shared a post to Instagram on Monday, urging those who are suffering to seek help.
Alongside a sunny bikini photo, she wrote at length: ‘If you’re reading this and struggling, I want you to know it gets better. If you had told me that a year ago, I would have paid you no attention.

’12 months ago I was broken. I had just been hospitalised following an attempt at taking my own life.
‘A lot of people who attempt suicide come to the realisation that they didn’t want their life to end, just the life that they were living,’ she wrote.
Natasha added: ‘The only person who will always be there, is yourself. Start making yourself a priority. If you hate who you are – you can’t expect someone to make up the love.
She wrote at length: ‘If you’re reading this and struggling, I want you to know it gets better. If you had told me that a year ago, I would have paid you no attention. 12 months ago I was broken. I had just been hospitalised following an attempt at taking my own life’
‘Those party friends aren’t your friends, believe me. They’re there for the good times, gone for the bad and on your rise up – they’ll want to drag you back.’
She went on to say that, ‘Therapy needs to be normalised. Keep trying different methods.
‘Love when you’re ready, not when you’re hungry. You’ll know. So much of pain was caused by loving the wrong men, temporary fixes only prolong the inevitable. A little faith, a lot of work and I promise – it gets better’.

Last year, Natasha urged people to ‘be kind’ to the 2020 MAFS cast, as several of them faced backlash from viewers.
The financial analyst shared a heartfelt Facebook post calling out trolls, while also alluding to reality stars who have died by suicide in the past.
‘Stop slamming me and my castmates, you’re doing psychological damage. If you want me to post suicide articles from reality shows, I’m available,’ she wrote.
