An Al Jazeera correspondent reported that there were martyrs and wounded in an Israeli bombing that targeted the gate of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip on Sunday evening.
Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Munir Al-Bursh, confirmed that the Israeli occupation forces targeted the entrance to Kamal Adwan Hospital, and added in an interview with Al Jazeera that those inside the hospital became trapped after snipers deployed on the roofs of buildings adjacent to the hospital.
For his part, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, Dr. Ahmed Al-Kahlot, said that the medical staff is working in extremely difficult conditions and “under pressure that is beyond endurance,” but he assured Al Jazeera that “none of the doctors and nurses will leave the hospital even if one patient or injured person remains in it,” as he put it. .
During its ongoing aggression against Gaza, the occupation army targeted a large number of hospitals in the Strip, which led to the death of dozens of wounded and displaced people who took refuge in them to escape the bombing of their residential neighborhoods.
On November 14, the Israeli army stormed Al-Shifa Hospital – the largest medical complex in the Gaza Strip – after besieging it for several days and bombing its facilities, including electricity generators and operating rooms.
After expelling hundreds of wounded and sick people and thousands of displaced people who took refuge there during the war, the Israeli army withdrew from the hospital 10 days after storming it and destroying parts of it, according to eyewitnesses and local sources.
