Matisse Thybulle has seen his preparation for the 2021-22 season hampered by a right shoulder injury. As reported by Derek Bodner of The Athletic, the Philadelphia player will stop working for at least a week due to pain in the aforementioned joint.
In the 76ers they hope that the problem does not go away, but they prefer to be cautious. For now, his player will dedicate himself to following a seven-day rehabilitation plan, after which time he will be evaluated again by the medical services.
Thybulle, who last season was included in the second best defensive quintet, happens to be an essential piece in Doc Rivers’ scheme. He is not a scorer, but this did not prevent him last season from playing up to 20 minutes a night to contribute 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks. A data that makes it clear what type of player he is is found when verifying that in the 2020-21 campaign he distributed fewer assists than balls he stole or blocked.
