The Dallas Mavericks have made several changes to their roster. The Texan team, like many others, is finalizing its final squad in recent days before the start of the new season, and this morning they have confirmed the incorporations of Justin Jackson and EJ Onu, although they have not reported on the conditions of their respective agreements.
Jackson is an old acquaintance of Dallas, as he was already in the squad during the 19-20 season, in which he played 65 games with them with averages of 5.5 points and 2.4 rebounds. However, after that course he was transferred to the Thunder, with whom he did not enjoy so much prominence and ended up being cut off in the middle of the season, at which point the Bucks took over his services through a dual contract. In Oklahoma, the forward managed to sign 7.2 points per game, although he only had a presence in 33 games, while in Milwaukee he only played one game.
Onu, meanwhile, appeared in this year’s draft after spending four courses at Shawnee State University, but failed to be selected. However, the Mavs gave him the opportunity to play with them in the Summer League, and although his averages of 1 point, 2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game are not the most impressive, his performance seems to have convinced the franchise that deserves a chance.
However, these arrivals would not be possible without the corresponding departures. In this sense, Dallas has decided to do without Carlik Jones, Feron Hunt and Tyrell Terry. The first two came to the team after not being chosen in the last edition of the draft, but Terry, chosen in the 31st position in 2020, already had a season of experience with the Mavs. His participation, however, was quite scarce, since the point guard played only 11 games, and this time he has not managed to become part of the squad again.
