The Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post reported that the organization “There is no Marmara“Turkish plans to launch a fleet of ships carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza stripwhich is currently being subjected to an Israeli aggression that has left more than 11,000 martyrs.
The organization announced in a statement, “We are setting off again toward Gaza as an independent, civilian movement, in line with the decision we took with the International Freedom Flotilla, of which we are a member.”
The ship “Mavi Marmara” participated in Gaza Freedom Flotilla 2010 Israel intercepted it and killed several Turkish activists on board, leading to a rift between Ankara and Tel Aviv that lasted for years.
Earlier, members of the Freedom Flotilla Alliance held meetings in London to plan the flotilla coming from Europe to Gaza, which is scheduled to sail next year in an attempt to break the naval blockade imposed on the Strip.
The organization wrote on its official website, “Our goals remain full human rights for all Palestinians… in particular, freedom of movement within historic Palestine and the right of return.”
