Maya Jama pushes luggage through the airport after touching down in NYC

She has been spending an increasing amount of time stateside following her recent engagement to  Brooklyn Nets player Ben Simmons.

And Maya Jama was seen touching down at JFK airport on Wednesday, after flying first class to see her NBA star beau in the Big Apple.

The TV presenter, 27, opted for stylish comfort in a lemon yellow tracksuit, which she layered with a chunky navy jacket to keep warm in the chilly NYC climes.

Make-up free Maya wore her long raven tresses loose and most of her face was covered with a blue mask, in accordance with coronavirus travel rules.

The media personality, who was also sporting a pair of white platform trainers, was pushing along two pieces of luggage and her £2,440 Louis Vuitton tote.

Maya shared an insight into her trip on her Instagram Stories, as she relaxed in the British Airways lounge before getting on a plane across the Atlantic.

While sat in the exclusive lounge, Maya told her followers she was trying to enjoy a ‘wholesome’ meal but all she wanted to do was ‘yak’.

She then shared a snap of her alcoholic beverage, and joked: Would be off brand not too, cling cling!’

Maya then revealed she had been told off for recording but later shared a glimpse of her upper class plane seat, where she was enjoying a glass of champagne.

Maya’s trip comes shortly after she spent Valentine’s Day in New York with Ben.

Her husband-to-be surprised her on Valentine’s Day by covering their hotel room in red rose petals and bouquets.

The former BBC Radio 1 DJ panned her camera around their luxury pad, proudly showing off the efforts Ben had gone to. 

Maya was reported to have got engaged to basketball player Ben over Christmas after seven months of dating after he proposed in his home country of the United States.  

The Sun recently claimed the pair had only told close friends and family the alleged happy news.

Maya spent Christmas at Ben’s £3.7million mansion in Moorestown, New Jersey and it’s rumoured she will relocate there following the proposal.

A source told the publication: ‘Ben adores Maya and has fallen head over heels for her. He picked up the ring on Jewelers’ Row in the diamond district of Philadelphia the day before he proposed.

They added: ‘Ben was so excited, but they’ve decided to keep the news low-key and tell only those closest to them. Maya flew to New Jersey to spend Christmas with him and is still there now.

‘They had a small family gathering last weekend and announced their engagement.’
