Mayor of Manzanillo requests resignation of the Colima Prosecutor

Griselda Martínez Martínez, municipal president of Manzanillo, Colima, requested the resignation of the state prosecutor, Bryant Alejandro García Ramírez, since he considered that it has not given results. He said that the Prosecutor’s Office Colima it lacks everything, even a prosecutor.

The mayoress emanated from the party Morena He assured that the prosecutor is more focused on attending to political grids instead of increasing the prosecution of crimes.

“Someone must have a little conscience. They are doing a lot of damage. Prosecutor Bryant must resign for the good of Colima. His permanence is unsustainable and his arrival was irresponsible on the part of those who proposed it, of those who approved it and of those who have supported it,” he stated.

The prosecutor Bryant Alejandro García Ramírez he was appointed by the Colima Congress on November 27, 2021, after Gabriel Verduzco Rodríguez previously resigned on November 1 as state prosecutor. Said resignation coincided with the arrival to the governorship of Indira Vizcaíno Silva, from the Morena party.

In this regard, the mayor of Griselda Martinez ─where the port of Manzanillo is located, the most important in the country─ attacked prosecutor Bryant Alejandro García, for allegedly being involved in grids.

“They have been totally omissive in assuming their responsibilities and giving a result in the investigation of the crimes, in the persecution of those involved in those crimes and in properly consigning them, and of course putting an end to impunity.

“It is better for them to attend to political grids than to persecute the serious crimes that are committed daily. The prosecutor’s office so lacks everything, that it lacks a prosecutor, ”he said.

On this request, Governor Indira Vizcaíno has not yet ruled.

Bryant Alejandro García Ramírez is a lawyer from the University of Colima. He has held various positions in the state government. He was Technical Secretary of the Secretary of Social Development in the Secretary of Well-being, Social Inclusion and Women; Legal Coordinator in Tourism Colima; Legal Deputy Director at the Cuauhtémoc City Council; Official of the Civil Registry in the same City Hall and secretary in the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Colima.
