The organizers announced the upcoming “revenge” fight between Irishman Conor McGregor and his American challenger Dustin Poirier, to be held on January 23, 2021, in Abu Dhabi, within the “UFC 257” mixed martial arts tournament.
The Russian “TASS” agency quoted the organizers as saying that the tournament will be held on the “Fight Island” in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, with a public presence, and those wishing to attend will have to fulfill a number of conditions related to the emerging corona virus epidemic, and in particular, to conduct a test PCR 48 hours beforehand and that the result is negative.
The organizers revealed that ticket prices will range between 535 dirhams (about 145 dollars) and 4495 dirhams (1214 dollars).
It is reported that MacGregor dropped Poirier by knockout in the first round of the first fight that brought them together in September 2014, in the “UFC 178” mixed martial arts tournament.
The Irish, the former UFC champion in two different weights, fought his last fight on January 18, 2020, in which he defeated the American Donald Sirone, and announced his retirement period.
And Fight Island in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, will host the UFC competitions on January 16, 20 and 23.
Also participating in it will be Russian fighter Omar Nurmagomedov, aged 24, cousin of Habib Nurmagomedov, retired UFC champion.
