The Tunisian Prime Minister, Hisham El Mechichi, expressed his hope that his country’s relations with Libya would develop to the level of strategic partnership, for the good and in the interests of the two peoples.
Al-Mashishi congratulated, in a phone call, the head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, on the occasion of the government of national unity winning the confidence of the Libyan Parliament.
The Tunisian government presidency clarified in a statement that Mashishi praised the elevation of the existing relations between Tunisia and neighboring Libya, expressing his hope that “these relations will develop to the level of strategic partnership for the good and in the interest of the two brotherly peoples, embodying the bonds of brotherhood and common belief in the unity of destiny and the values of solidarity, cooperation and complementarity.” .
She indicated that the exile confirmed, for his part, his country’s desire to intensify cooperation and trade exchange relations between the two countries.
She pointed out that he “praised the standing of the government and people of Tunisia with the Libyan people, stressing that Tunisians have a special place with their Libyan neighbors.”
