A medical source told Al Jazeera that the Israeli occupation army gave doctors, patients and displaced people a deadline Saturday morning to evacuate the complex Healing Medical in Gaza in an hour.
A few days ago, the Israeli occupation forces stormed Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest medical complex in the Gaza Strip, and turned it into a large prison after preventing entry and exit, blowing up a warehouse of medicines and medical equipment, and shooting at everything that moved, according to sources from inside it.
Hospital director Muhammad Abu Salamiya said in statements to Al Jazeera yesterday, Friday, that everyone in the hospital is subjected to genocide.
In turn, the head of the burns department at the hospital, Ahmed Mufid Al-Makhalati, said that the occupation stormed two buildings inside the complex, and the tanks are still there, indicating that the general situation is unsafe, and operations cannot be performed due to the lack of electricity.
Al-Makhalati told Al-Jazeera yesterday that most of the wounded and patients in the intensive care unit who were relying on artificial respiration died due to the lack of oxygen and fuel. He added that there are 36 premature babies suffering from diseases due to the lack of water and medicines.
Al-Shifa Complex is the largest health institution providing medical services in Gaza strip. It was established in 1946 and has developed over time to become the largest medical complex that includes 3 specialized hospitals and employs 25% of hospital workers in the entire Gaza Strip. It currently receives thousands of patients and displaced people who have sought refuge in it.
