1 meerkat has died and other zoo animals are being closely monitored adhering to a fire at the Metro Richmond Zoo Sunday evening.
The zoo in Moseley, Virginia posted on social media confirming a large hearth that transpired in work locations driving the scenes.
In accordance to the zoo, a Metro Richmond Zoo employee referred to as 911 to report the fireplace close to 9:50 p.m. Sunday, which started in the workshop area and unfold to the animal hospital, feed storage area and zookeeper company region.
