Meet the real estate whisperers: Two female agents who have sold a whopping 17 HOMES in their first month reveal the tricks to finding your dream house (and scoring a good deal)
- Two Australian mums are ‘shaking up’ the Victorian real estate scene this year
- The women opened their own agency which has a focus on women’s needs
- They say women are making most of the decisions these days and cater for that
Two mums have shaken up the real estate industry selling 17 homes in their first month of business – including one for more than $4million which sold in just one week.
Jenny Wegner and Julie Bible from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria describe themselves as ‘two women kicking butt’ since launching their business Bayview Property.
They were sick of the male-dominated real estate industry’s focus on ‘the husband’ and ‘man of the house’.

The women say it is important to get the location of the property right – because everything else can be changed
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia they revealed ‘women are the ones making these decisions’.
‘It’s the women choosing the properties. It’s the women with the cheque books.’
Jenny has 11 years experience in real estate while Julie is an interior designer trying her hand at selling houses.
And so far there have been ‘happy dances every day’ – something Jenny said she expected following the Covid lock downs.
‘People want to continue working from home, which means they can live out here on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula,’ she said.
They also said to try to visualise your own things in the home – if you can imagine yourself living there it could be the home for you
They also said it is super important to have your finances organised before you start looking, so an offer can be made immediately and you don’t miss out on your dream home
Jenny saw the New Zealand market ‘go crazy’ when their lockdown ended. So knew it was finally time to break from the pack and run an agency with her own vision. So she launched Bayview Property.
‘We believe you have one chance to make a good impression. I wanted to do something fresh, something unique. Something that pays attention to the fact people are buying the lifestyle here as much as they are buying the property.’
Julie is helping with that – and together they have kicked sales goals out of the park – and have even had to hire an office manager to keep up with demands.
‘I style the property so that people can see themselves living there. Women walk into a home and get a feel for it. They buy with their hearts,’ she said.
And the usual customers have changed.
‘At this time of the year we usually have people buying holiday homes, but people are buying family homes now,’ Jenny said.
The fastest sell the women have had was a block of land which was on and off the market in just 24 hours.
The selling price, $845,000, for a land and a plans permit on a 550sqm block.
The women believe a house doesn’t become your home when you move in or when you buy it. It becomes your home the moment you choose it as your own.
