The newspaper pointed out that the first names “Rachel Megan” have been removed from the mother’s section of the birth certificate, to correspond with the preferred name of Diana, “Her Royal Highness, Princess of Wales.”
Archie’s birth was registered on May 17, 2019, after he was born on May 6, while the name was changed a month later, on June 6, according to The Sun newspaper.
“This may have been an early part of their plan,” said the Queen’s former press secretary, Dickie Arbiter.
Lady Colin Campbell, who spotted the amendment, said this was “extraordinary, and it raises all kinds of questions about what the Sussex were thinking”.
Notably, after months of changing the name, the couple resigned from the royal family.
