Riyad Mahrez denied feeling any frustration or anxiety due to the lack of his participation with Manchester City, after the statements of his coach in the Algerian national team, Djamel Belmadi, which was interpreted as the “green” star is unhappy in his team.
Mehrez told the “City Extra” newspaper, that what was published by Algerian and foreign media outlets was wrong, stressing that Belmadi’s statements were interpreted and removed from context.
Mahrez explained to the English newspaper that Bilmadi’s lack of mastery of the Arabic language made his statement rich material for the media.
Mahrez stressed that “everything is fine with regard to his situation with Manchester City.”
Belmadi had made statements to the official Algerian television, on Monday, in which he talked about Mahrez’s departure from the main “City” squad, and he understood from his words that the Manchester City star was unhappy in his team, due to his continuous lack of participation.
It is reported that Mahrez, 29, joined Manchester City in the summer of 2018 from Leicester City for 67 million euros after an amazing career with the “Foxes”, and his current contract extends until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
The Algerian star participated in 25 matches with Manchester City this season in various competitions, including only 12 matches he played as a primary and completed them for the final, scoring 6 goals and making 3.
