The Grizzlies are the team of the moment. For showiness and results, Tennessee’s men do not stop garnering well-deserved accolades as they count their games for victories. Last night, visiting Cleveland, came the sixth in a row 106-110.
It was a tough game for Taylor Jenkins’ boys. The Cavaliers are also doing a very good season and, despite the injuries, they showed a great image to the point of taking 11 points up (55-44) shortly before the break. However, when they seemed to have part of the job done, between the end of the first half and the beginning of the second the Grizzlies achieved a 15-0 run in their favor to turn the score (55-59).
With the Memphis comeback consummated, equality was the predominant note in the second half until he decided the star of the visitors. Ja Morant, who is having a dream season, signed the last eight points of his team to seal the victory and add another tip to his star aura. In total there were 26 goals, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks for a player called to set an era.
“At the end of games, I love being the one to take that shot, hit or miss. It’s something I’ve been complying with lately. When I attack, my job is just to make the right play, be it the executor myself or one of my teammates, ”says Morant.
Shielding the point guard Jaren Jackson Jr. was there. Despite making little noise, his high performance is being a constant this season and against the Cavs he contributed 22 points. Also noteworthy are the 13 points and 9 rebounds put by Brandon Clarke from the bench, as well as the 12 by Tyus Jones also from the second unit.
