MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Cerelyn “CJ” Davis was sworn in as Memphis’ 1st Black woman law enforcement main in June 2021 in a time of skyrocketing crime fees and higher hopes for improve.
In the aftermath of the loss of life of George Floyd at the fingers of Minneapolis law enforcement, Davis, a much more than 30-year legislation enforcement veteran, was heralded as a “rising star of law enforcement reform.”
