Argentine star Lionel Messi achieved a historic achievement during his Barcelona match against Paris Saint-Germain (1-4) on Tuesday, in the first leg of the Champions League final eight-round match.
Messi scored the goal for his team in the 26th minute from a penalty kick, and the Parisian team responded with four successive goals.
According to the “Opta” network of statistics, Messi scored for the 17th consecutive year in the European Champions League, between (2005 and 2021), equaling that of Spain’s Raul Gonzalez, the former Real Madrid icon between 1995 and 2011.

Messi reached his 20th goal during the current season (2020-2021) in various competitions, to score 20 goals or more during 13 consecutive seasons with Barcelona.
