Barcelona beat its guest Elche by 3-0, today, Wednesday, in a postponed match in the first round of the Spanish soccer league “La Liga”.
Argentine star Lionel Messi scored two goals for Barcelona in the 48th and 68th minutes, while his colleague Jordi Alba scored the third goal in the 73rd minute of the match.

With his two goals today, Messi raised his score to 18 goals and broke his partnership at the top of the scorers’ ranking with Uruguayan Luis Suarez, Atletico Madrid’s 16-goal star.
With this victory, Barcelona raised its score to 50 points, and rose to third place, reducing the difference with runners-up Real Madrid (52 points) to two points, and with leaders Atletico Madrid (55 points) to 5 points.
On the other hand, Elche stuck at 21 in the nineteenth place penultimate on the League table.
