Messi, who is playing his first season in the French capital, explained in an interview with the Spanish sports newspaper “Marca”, that he feels the pressure imposed on his star-studded team to win the Champions League for the first time in its history.
“Everyone says we are the favorites (to win the Champions League). I won’t deny that we are one of the favourites, but we still need some things to be a really strong team.”
On the other hand, Messi commented on the training of his former colleague Xavi Hernandez for Barcelona, who suffered a violent tremor after the departure of the Argentine star.
“Barcelona will develop with Xavi. He is a coach who knows a lot and knows the club well,” he said.
And on Monday, “Marca” published brief excerpts from the interview it conducted with Messi in Paris, noting that it will publish it in full on Tuesday.
