The Mexican stock markets fell sharply in the session at the beginning of the week, after a day of volatile movements. Local stock prices closed in the red, with the commodity and consumer sectors leading the move.
The referential index S&P/BMV IPC from Mexican stock exchange (BMV), made up of the 35 most liquid shares in the domestic market, lost 1.14% to 51,081.33 points. The FTSE BIVAfrom Institutional Stock Market (Biva), yielded 1.24% to 1,067.06 units.

Within the reference index, most of the components ended the session with falls, with 23 values in the red and 12 in the green. The worst performances of this round were those of Grupo México, with a loss of 2.84%, and Bimbo, with 2.71 percent.
