Mexican stock market falls in the first session of the week awaiting more clues from the Fed

Las stock markets of Mexico The negotiations on Monday ended with losses. The local indices fell moderately in a market attentive to the comments of officials of the Federal Reserve (Fed) and after two days with strong gains.

The leading index S&P/BMV IPC from Mexican stock exchange (BMV), made up of the 35 most liquid shares in the Mexican market, fell 0.34% to a level of 51,785.13 units. The FTSE BIVAfrom Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), fell 0.30% to 1,080.29 points.

Within the benchmark, most components ended the day in negative territory, with 25 stocks in the green and 10 in the red. Gentera shares led the movement, with a loss of 3.39%; followed by Cemex, with -2.56 percent.

Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller warned that the fact that the Fed considers easing the pace of rate hikes at its next meeting should not be seen as softening its fight against inflation, which has made the market nervous.

According to analysts, investors will continue to pay attention to the interventions that US central bank officials will have this week, in search of clues about the magnitude of the last increase in interest rates this year.
