Due to its contribution to the violence in our country, the Secretary of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard, reported that the second lawsuit against illicit arms trafficking, especially against five companies, was filed by Mexico before the Federal District Court of Tucson, Arizona , this Monday.
“Mexico filed today in Arizona, United States, a lawsuit that would be the second regarding weapons against, especially, five companies that are located in that state, in Arizona,” the foreign minister announced in a message.
Ebrard Casaubón explained that the Court is being asked to impose sanctions on arms manufacturers in the United States because it is evident that they commit the crime of arms trafficking, which arrive in our country and are used to commit serious crimes, such as homicides.
Weapons are prohibited in our country, so in essence we are asking or asking the Court there in Arizona to impose sanctions on them because it is a crime according to the latest reforms made in the United States,” said the official.
The lawsuit notes that the five stores are among the sellers of Arizona whose weapons are most frequently recovered in Mexico. The defendant companies are:
- Diamondback Shooting Sports, Inc. (Tucson).
- SNG Tactical, LLC (Tucson).
- Loan Prairie, LLC, also known as The Hub Target Sports (Tucson).
- Ammo A-Z, LLC (Phoenix).
- Sprague’s Sports, Inc. (Yuma).
“Why do we insist on this? Because if we don’t stop this tremendous flow of weapons into Mexico, how are we going to stop the violence here? And on the other hand, if the United States is asking us to support them, that’s fine; that we work together against fentanyl, the chemical precursors, the drug cartels, we also want them to help us by reducing this flow of weapons that does us a lot of damage,” said Ebrard.
We filed a lawsuit in Arizona against arms dealers and traffickers at our https://t.co/rkgtGNP4eJ we are going to give up because only if we reduce the availability of weapons in Mexico will we also reduce the violence we suffer. pic.twitter.com/rcxTW94HPZ

The earlier lawsuit filed by the Government of Mexico in Boston, Massachusetts, was the first brought by a national government against the US gun industry. While the lawsuit filed in Arizona is the first civil lawsuit brought by a national government against gun dealers in USA supplying the criminal market.
The new lawsuit filed in Arizona contains several arguments: that the sellers do not comply with the due care to which they are obliged, cause foreseeable damage, use misleading and biased advertising, sell weapons that are modified into automatic weapons, cause a disturbance of public order and violate state and federal laws, which that causes major damage in Mexican territory, detailed the Mexican Foreign Ministry in a statement.
