While the Miami Heat’s journey to the NBA Finals did not end with the title they had hoped, star guard Jimmy Butler remained positive in a post-game press conference.
Butler has been one of the key players on this team, which reached the NBA Finals twice in the last four seasons – losing both times.
But he remains focused on the task of capturing that title and believes that the Heat will eventually accomplish that goal.
‘It’s been great,’ Butler said when asked about his playoff run. ‘I’ve had some hell of a teammates come through here and compete with me and give us the opportunity to win a championship – which I still believe with everything in me that we will do as a team here, as an organization, as a city in Miami.’
‘The four years have been great. It’s always great to be wanted and loved and appreciated and I don’t think that that’s going to change.’

Butler shot an awful 27 percent from the field on a 5-for-18 shooting line on Monday night
‘But for the time being… I’m grateful, man, that we made it here. Came up short, but I’m blessed. I’m fortunate.’
Butler had a night to forget in Game 5 back in Denver. While he did lead the team in points with 21, he shot 5-18 from the field including a 2-5 line from 3-point range.
The star also committed two turnovers – including a key pass that was intercepted by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the final minutes of the game.
That 5-18 line (27.7 percent) was the worst shooting performance Butler had throughout the finals while nine of his 21 points came from the free throw line.
It’s the second time Butler has lost in the NBA Finals with the Miami Heat. Butler & co. fell to the Lakers in 2020.
