Clemson holds on to the top spot in the latest Amway Coaches Poll
USA TODAY Sports’ Paul Myerberg breaks down the latest Amway Coaches Poll.
Michigan falls way, way out of the Top 25 after losing to rival Michigan State and Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State remain at the head of the pack in the latest USA TODAY Sports NCAA Re-Rank 1-127.
Ranked eighth heading into the weekend, the Wolverines are down to No. 50 after losing 27-24 to the Spartans, who were coming off a loss to Rutgers.
Michigan was not the only team to fall down or completely out of the Top 25. Previously the best hope for the Big 12 in terms reaching the College Football Playoff, No. 15 Oklahoma State is down nine after losing to Texas. North Carolina falls to No. 24 after losing 44-41 to Virginia. And No. 26 Kansas State was docked 12 spots after getting blown out by West Virginia.
The Tigers, Crimson Tide and Buckeyes are the clear class of the Bowl Subdivision. While Clemson struggled with Boston College and Alabama made a case for leapfrogging to the top of the 1-127 by demolishing woeful Mississippi State, the Tigers stick at No. 1 leading into a crucial ACC matchup Saturday against No. 4 Notre Dame.
