The military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi, believes that Hezbollah’s defensive position is on the front line South Lebanon It is based on several basic principles.
He added – during the military analysis section – that these principles are represented in 3 axes. First, the defense must be comprehensive in all directions, which is extremely important for the party. Second, this defense must be characterized by strategic depth, and third, it is necessary to have mutual support between the regions. Controlled by Hezbollah as defensive areas.
Al-Falahi pointed out that the recent remarkable development on the southern Lebanon front is the pressure process witnessed in some areas in the western sector, where the Israeli army tried to penetrate the defensive lines and penetrate into the Lebanese interior.
Al-Falahi described the high-altitude areas, such as Maroun al-Ras, Mays al-Jabal, al-Adaysa, Kafr Kila, and Aita al-Shaab, as essential focal points in the party’s defensive strategy, explaining that these areas must be able to provide support to each other in the event of any Israeli incursion, which enables them to Pour fire on advancing forces from different areas, thus enhancing the party’s ability to withstand.
He pointed out that the Israeli army is trying to control the border areas up to 5 kilometers deep into Lebanese territory, and is focusing its efforts on controlling the high and ruling areas, which are considered key to incursions into Lebanese interior.
Deception tactics
To achieve this goal, Al-Falahi adds, the Israeli army is exerting pressure from multiple directions, starting from Kafr Kila, through Al-Adaysa and Blida, all the way to Maroun Al-Ras, Ramiya, and Al-Abouneh.
The military expert warned against deception and camouflage tactics in the Israeli strategy, pointing out that the Israeli army may resort to launching attacks on a wide front to test the weak points in the Lebanese defenses and identify areas that can be penetrated.
He also warned of the occupation army’s use of deception tactics, whereby secondary efforts are directed to make the defenders believe that there are multiple attacks, while the main effort is focused on a specific axis for penetration.
Regarding Israel’s position on international forces, Al-Falahi explained that Israel considers that… Resolution 1701 has ended, and therefore demands the withdrawal of international forces (UNIFIL) from the region, and it also accuses these forces of obstructing the progress of its army – adds the expert – and even goes so far as to accuse them of forming human shields to protect fighters. Hezbollah.
The military expert attributes Israel’s attempt to push these forces into rear areas, and evacuate the area for a distance of up to 10 kilometers, to its intention to transform these areas into pure military zones, which may pave the way for deeper incursions in the future.
Al-Falahi stressed the importance of the western sector, explaining that it is considered the main location for international forces, and may constitute a major axis for any future Israeli incursion, which could place the region before the possibility of a dangerous escalation in the near future.
