Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi said that the withdrawal of the occupation forces is inevitable Gaza strip During the truce period, it was supposed to be for security reasons and for repositioning, but in view of what happened, it seems that the withdrawal was due to the fierce resistance that the occupation forces met from the Palestinian resistance in northern Gaza, which increased in intensity after the collapse of the truce, so the occupation was forced to withdraw more His forces.
He added in an analysis by Al Jazeera that the occupation may have realized the difficulty of controlling the northern Gaza Strip after the fierce resistance it faced, specifically in Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, Al-Atatra and other areas, and then decided to divide the central and southern regions into 3 main sectors.
He said that the Israeli forces attacked the Al-Qarara area in order to cut off communication between the Central Gaza Brigade and the Khan Yunis Brigade. Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigadesmilitary section Islamic Resistance Movement (agitation).
Al-Duwairi believes that this “will not be the only option, but it is the first, and the occupation may search in the future for another corridor between southern Khan Yunis and Rafah.”
He added, “This second stage will be divided into stages: the first is reaching Salah al-Din Street (separating the north and south), then stopping and assessing the situation, then developing operations.”
The military expert believes that the maneuver will be different this time and that the resistance will be more difficult, because the areas in the south are not densely populated and open, thus giving the resistance an opportunity to deal more.
Regarding the ease of movement of the occupation forces in the south, Al-Duwairi did not rule out the arrival of these forces to Al-Rashid Street tomorrow morning, Monday, because they are moving in semi-soft areas, and thus achieving separation on the surface of the ground, but they do not achieve it underground.
He reiterated that an incursion over land does not mean control, as evidenced by what is currently happening in Juhr al-Dik (north of Gaza), which the occupation entered in the first days of the ground operation, but where it faces losses to this day, adding that “Israel is still fighting an unknown enemy, whether in the north or South,” he said.
Regarding the reason for the occupation’s focus on the city of Khan Yunis, Al-Duwairi said that Israel treats this city as a rock in the middle and southern sectors, because if the occupation forces control it, they will isolate the sector into 4 separate parts by incursions north and south of Khan Yunis.
Houthi attacks
Regarding the attack launched by the Yemeni Houthi group on two Israeli ships in Bab al-Mandab, Al-Duwairi said that it launched from a shallow area that ships cannot cross.
He pointed out that they may have launched missiles from Mayon Island, Hodeidah, or Mokha, because they have missiles with a range of up to two thousand kilometers.
He added, “It seems that they have decided not to allow Israeli ships to pass through Bab al-Mandab, and Israel may respond by sending naval vessels to the place, unless it changes the movement of its ships to the Cape of Good Hope route.”
Today, Sunday, the Houthis announced that they had targeted two Israeli ships in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the group’s military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said, “Our naval forces will continue to target Israeli ships until the aggression against Gaza stops.”
